Rays Topple Yankees with Late Rally
|
The Princeton Rays downed the Pulaski Yankees, 7-4, the largest share of the credit belonging to second baseman Éric Lasserre. On the day, Lasserre went 1-2 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Rays. With their winning streak at 5, the Rays have raced to a strong start this season.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Princeton trailing 4-3, Lasserre jumped on a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Ethan Ward and hit a grand slam home run to left. With one swing, the Rays had a walk-off win.
