7-5 Win for Hillsboro Over Eugene
|
The first-place Hillsboro Hops took on the Eugene Emeralds in front of a spirited crowd.
The Hillsboro Hops trumped the Eugene Emeralds, 7-5, at Ron Tonklin Field. Hillsboro first baseman Dave Hogan was terrific. He was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. This win makes it 6 in a row for Hillsboro.
Hillsboro catcher Chad Williams helped the Hops go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Williams hit a run-scoring single off Eugene pitcher Chris Chamberlain.
In comments to the Hillsboro Times, Hogan admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
