The Boise Hawks went home winners at Memorial Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Greg Smith. Smith stifled the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, enabling Boise to grab the 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Smith, now 5-4. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. The Hawks improved their record to 32-38 with the win over Salem-Keizer.

Boise took a 3-1 lead on Juan Barrón's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Barrón hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Salem-Keizer pitcher Juan Vallejo visibly frustrated.

Boise manager Jesús Amador commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
