The Vancouver Canadians rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Darren Nelson to a win, beating the Eugene Emeralds, 6-0, at Nat Bailey Stadium. The victory gives the Canadians a record of 36-29.

The Canadians had to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. The score was 6-0, Vancouver, with one out. Eugene, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. António Gallegos dug in at the plate, but on a 0-2 sinker, he struck out.
