Boise beat Vancouver on the strength of starting pitcher Pete Mason's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Daron Davenport came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Steve Jensen locked down his 1st save.

Boise used the timely hitting of Bob Pollock to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hawks on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Boise manager Jesús Amador said afterward.

The third-place Hawks have won 4 straight games.
