Volcanoes Get 8-4 Win Versus Everett
The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes picked up a win at Volcanoes Stadium, taking down the Everett AquaSox, 8-4. Starting pitcher Chris Metcalf was a big reason why. Metcalf picked up the win for Salem-Keizer, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 5-1. Mario Oliva was credited with the save for Salem-Keizer, his 5th of the season.

Eddie Martin hit a run-scoring double off Johnny Morgan in the bottom of the third, which put the Volcanoes in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Martin had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Martin. "It sure beats the alternative."

The last-place Volcanoes improved to 24-28.
