Emeralds Score Late to Upend Volcanoes, 6-5
Eugene beat Salem-Keizer at Volcanoes Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to catcher Ron McIntosh. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. The win was credited to António López in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Enrico Reyes took the loss. The save was Ben Lungwitz's, his 3rd.

The game hung in the balance when Ron McIntosh came to bat in the top of the eighth inning. With no one out and the bases empty, he hit a solo home run, putting Eugene ahead and helping them clinch the win.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," McIntosh told a Eugene Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

The Volcanoes, now 25-22, have lost 4 straight.
