|
Cincinnati beat Los Angeles on the strength of starting pitcher Marcus Stroman's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Stroman yielded 3 runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-5. Picking up the save was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Parsons.
The Reds got a big at-bat from left fielder Walt Morris. For the game, Morris went 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Cincinnati a 3-1 lead.
"Winning is contagious," said Morris. "We're looking forward to the next game."
With the win, the Reds have a record of 22-19.
