Baldwin, Canadians March to 12-4 Victory
|
The Vancouver Canadians stormed past the Tri-City Dust Devils, 12-4, at Nat Bailey Stadium. Vancouver left fielderDoug Baldwin , who is tied for 10th in the NWL in RBI with 32, led the hit parade. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Héctor Rangel was credited with the save for Vancouver, his 1st of the season. Vancouver has now won 3 in a row.
Pepe Ortega had a big 2-run double for the Canadians in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Vancouver leading 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from Liam Jarvis and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Canadians ahead, 5-2.
"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Tri-City manager Tyson Ross.
