AquaSox Stay Hot, Beat Hawks, 5-4
|
The Everett AquaSox weathered a fine game by Boise right fielder Ed Anderson to upend the Hawks, 5-4, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Anderson went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 4 runs. The winner in relief was Jeremiah Parkinson. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 4.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. Picking up the save was Doug Winters, his 8th.
The AquaSox got a big boost from right fielder António Pérez who had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the first inning off Hawks hurler Jimmy Miller. It was his 17th RBI of the season and put Everett on top, 1-0.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Pérez after the game.
Everett leads the West Division by 3 games.
