The State College Spikes picked up a win at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, dropping the Tri-City ValleyCats, 7-4. Fred Marcel, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2025 draft, was the difference-maker. Jorge Piñeiro notched his 1st save in 2 chances. The win boosted State College to 45-26.

Mike Meyer, who is tied for 3rd in the NYP in triples with 6, chipped in a run-scoring single for State College in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.

"Fred set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said State College manager Jimmy Alvarez.
