Tri-City Jukes Past Hudson Valley, 8-5
|
The Tri-City ValleyCats dumped the Hudson Valley Renegades, 8-5, in large part due to designated hitter Joe Parsons. On the day, Parsons was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the ValleyCats. Tri-City reliever Jeff Love picked up the win to move to 2-1. Juan Cortéz suffered the loss. Albert Vega notched his 10th save in 14 chances.
In the bottom of the eighth, the ValleyCats grabbed the lead when Parsons hit his 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Juan Cortéz made it 7-5, Tri-City.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Tri-City manager Carlos Subero.
Tri-City is now 33-37, Hudson Valley 37-33.
