Spikes Take Down Ironbirds, 11-8
The performance of Dan Carlson proved critical in helping State College beat Aberdeen, 11-8, in 15 innings. The Spikes center fielder was 3 for 7 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Luis Padilla, 3-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 4 innings. Maxime Catanei was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 15th, until Carlson delivered big-time for State College, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Orazio Barrachina. The game-changing hit put the Spikes on top, 9-8.

"It felt good to put the barrel on the ball," said Carlson.

The win elevated the Spikes to 44-26.
