Staten Island Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Staten Island Yankees and Batavia Muckdogs had fans on the edges of their seats.

Starting pitcher Jon Loeffler was a major factor in the 3-2 Staten Island Yankees triumph over the Batavia Muckdogs. Greg Yarber, now 2-5, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0.

Juan Gonzáles found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the ninth. Facing Batavia hurler Connor Guiney, the 21-year-old pinch hitter hit a run-scoring single. His 5th hit of the season put the Yankees on top, 3-2.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Loeffler.

The last-place Yankees lifted their record to 27-41.
