The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

Jeff Sims was a major factor in the 5-4 Staten Island win over Tri-City. The Yankees designated hitter hit 2 home runs. Staten Island has now won 7 games in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Tommy Brown in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 20-year old left-handed pitcher Albert Vega to win the game for Staten Island. The home crowd went nuts.

"We saved our best for last," said Brown.
