The Auburn Doubledays overcame a good performance by Lowell right fielder Jeremy Vickers to knock off Lowell, 8-7, at Falcon Park. Vickers went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Aurelio Flores earned save number 16 this season. With the win, the Doubledays have a record of 25-40.

The Doubledays benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the sixth. With Steve McGuffie at bat and Auburn leading 7-6, the Lowell miscue allowed Auburn to plate 1 and take the lead, 8-6.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said McGuffie, "but we got it done."
