Renegades Turn Back Williamsport, 6-4
The Hudson Valley Renegades bested the Williamsport Crosscutters, 6-4, at Dutchess Stadium. Bruno Smiley was one of the standouts. He went 2-3 with a double and a walk. The winner was Dimacali Benaoro, who threw 86 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 6 hits. José Ramírez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 20 save opportunities.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Renegades grabbed the lead when Brad Crosby rapped a two-out triple. Hudson Valley was trailing 4-3, when Crosby hit a 2-run triple off Baltesar Covilh to put his team in front, 5-4.

"I like our moxie," said Renegades manager Tracy McGrady.

The win lifted the Hudson Valley record to 37-30.
