The Mahoning Valley Scrappers topped the Brooklyn Cyclones, 11-4, in New York-Penn League action at MCU Park. The standout performance belonged to Mahoning Valley pitcher and Rio Verde, Arizona, native Joel Watkins. The win puts Mahoning Valley at 34-33 this season.

Mahoning Valley left fielder Milo Lewis contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 9th hit of the season and put the Scrappers ahead, 6-4.

"We took home the win," said Lewis. "What's not to like?"
