Brooklyn Makes Mahoning Valley 4-1 Losers
The Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, 4-1, in New York-Penn League action at MCU Park. Brooklyn pitcher Ollie Benjamin had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Benjamin, now 3-6. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Rodrigo Pérez.

In the bottom of the first, 26-year old center fielder Al Hawkins hit a 2-run home run. The 8th home run of the season for the Brooklyn left fielder put the Cyclones on top, 2-0.

Benjamin said his team "played with determination."

The Cyclones win now puts them at 31-34.
