Conditions were not ideal but Auburn and Vermont were able to put their game in the books.

The Auburn Doubledays defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 8-1. Right Fielder Bob Cote deserved a large share of the credit. Cote was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Doubledays. Beau Brooks earned the win for Auburn. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 2-4.

Early in the game, Cote had a run-scoring double for Auburn. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Doubledays on top, 1-0.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Grant Green.

Auburn is now 30-32, while Vermont is 25-37.
