Getting a good performance from first baseman Eric Preston, the Lowell Spinners defeated the Connecticut Tigers, 9-3. Preston was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Spinners. Reliever Flavio Dionisotti picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Junior Taylor took the loss. Lowell now has a record of 36-25 with the win.

It could have been a different outcome for Lowell, had it not been for Ken Bowling, the 22-year old catcher . Bowling contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Lowell up, 4-3.

Bowling called the triumph "a good team win."
