Auburn right-hander Barend van Zelst pitched his team to victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Falcon Park. The final score was 7-4. At 22-37, the Doubledays find themselves in 5th place in the Pinckney Division.

An important at-bat for the Doubledays came in the bottom of the second, when right fielder Yvon Auvray stroked a 2-run triple. That made the score 4-1 in favor of Auburn. For the day, Auvray went 2-4 with a triple and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," van Zelst told a Auburn News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
