State College pitcher Jim Sandberg did his part in helping his team defeat the Hudson Valley Renegades, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Chad Schmidt was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 5 save opportunities. State College goes to 40-20. The win puts them 6½ games up in their division.

Joe May had a direct impact on the outcome. May contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put State College up, 2-0.
