5-0 Cyclones Win over Crosscutters Evens Season Record
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones got a stellar effort from pitcher Esteban García, helping Brooklyn score a win over the visiting Williamsport Crosscutters, 5-0. In 7 innings, García surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. With the win, the Cyclones have a record of 29-29.
Sean Middleton had a big 2-run double for the Cyclones in the bottom of the third inning. With Brooklyn leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Dave Lynam, who is tied for 2nd in the NYP in innings pitched with 101.0, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cyclones ahead, 4-0.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Brooklyn manager Tom Slater.
