Spinners Score 3-2 Win Over Tri-City
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Lowell Spinners and the Tri-City ValleyCats, Steve Foster was the X factor. The Lowell right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Foster, now 2-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Ismael Santos got credit for the save for Lowell. It was his 1st of the year.
Lowell took a 3-0 lead on Edgard Flores's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Flores hit in the top of the ninth, left Tri-City pitcher Albert Vega visibly frustrated.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Foster.
Lowell is now 25-30, while Tri-City is 28-27.
