On Road, Mahoning Valley Drops Auburn, 4-3

Falcon Park was the site of a competitive game between the Auburn Doubledays and Mahoning Valley Scrappers.
Mahoning Valley Scrappers starter Jim Acosta was in fine form against the Auburn Doubledays at Falcon Park, leading his team to a win, 4-3. Acosta, now 4-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs.
Bob O'Brian, the slick-fielding third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. O'Brian contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Mahoning Valley up, 4-0.
O'Brian said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
The Scrappers raised their record to 20-32.
