Victory Takes Renegades to 26-24
|
Hudson Valley played host to Connecticut at Dutchess Stadium.
Hudson Valley second baseman Jesús Mencío played a vital role in his team's 6-5 triumph over Connecticut. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 for Hudson Valley. José Ramírez finished to wrap up his 12th save.
The Renegades got a big at-bat from designated hitter Danny Phillips. For the game, Phillips was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Hudson Valley a 3-1 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Phillips told the Hudson Valley Daily News.
The second-place Renegades have won 4 straight.
