New York Roughed Up By Pirates
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 26-year old right fielder Joe Allen helped the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the New York Mets, 8-2. At 20-20, the Pirates find themselves in third place in the National League East Division.
Allen came through for the Pirates in the bottom of the first inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0, the right fielder hit a 2-run home run. It made the score 3-0, Pittsburgh.
"Joe is still learning," said Pirates manager Jose Mijares. "The sky's the limit for him."
