Gene Wonnacott was a major factor in the 9-4 Connecticut win over Auburn. The Tigers center fielder went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Jim Patrick collected save number 1.

Tony Boggs hit a run-scoring triple off Daron Lee in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Tigers in front, 2-1. Boggs had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 1.

"I still think this team can play even better," Boggs told the Connecticut Observer.

The first-place Tigers have won 6 straight.
