The Williamsport Crosscutters outlasted Brit Wells and the Batavia Muckdogs, 8-6. Wells was impressive in the loss. The Batavia pitcher threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Tony Martínez, who threw 105 pitches over 8.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 6 runs on 7 hits. The save was Gilberto Chu's, his 1st.

Juan Ortíz had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Williamsport. He came through with a 2-run single to put Williamsport in front, 5-2.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Williamsport manager Jeff Mathis.

Batavia now has a 5-game losing streak.
