The Williamsport Crosscutters downed the Batavia Muckdogs, 10-5. The hitting star was designated hitter Dave Commo. Commo was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Crosscutters. Baltesar Covilh got the win, improving to 5-3. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. Williamsport leads the Pinckney Division by 5½ games.

The Crosscutters got a big hit from second baseman Jim Fox. In the bottom of the eighth, Fox pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season put the Crosscutters ahead, 10-3.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Commo.
