8-6 Loss to Tigers Extends Mahoning Valley Losing Streak
Tomás Pineda made an impact in the 8-6 Connecticut win over Mahoning Valley. Pineda was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Connecticut leads the Stedler Division by 4 games.

Connecticut used the bat of Chris Sampson to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 6-3. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Sampson told the Connecticut Observer.
