The Auburn Doubledays downed the Staten Island Yankees, 6-5, at Falcon Park. Jim Gordon led the way, going 3-for-4 for Auburn. Aurelio Flores closed it out for his 12th save. Auburn's record now stands at 18-28, placing them 5th in the Pinckney Division.

Had it not been for Eric Edwards, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Doubledays were trailing 4-3, Edwards hit a 2-run single for Auburn, giving his team the lead.

"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Gordon.
