The game between Cincinnati and Los Angeles is in the books, despite a little rain.

The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 6-1, in National League action at Great American Ball Park. Cincinnati pitcher Walt Sharpe had a standout performance. Sharpe yielded 1 run over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-3.

The Reds got a big at-bat from catcher Jeff Adams. For the game, Adams went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 3-1 lead.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Cincinnati skipper Kevin Cash.

The win elevated the Reds to 21-18.
