Doubledays Suffer 13-1 Drubbing
The Aberdeen Ironbirds got production from their entire lineup in an easy 13-1 win over the Auburn Doubledays. Doing his part was second baseman Christian Nygård. Nygård went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Bob Bedser, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 3. With the win, Aberdeen has a record of 22-19. Auburn falls to 21-20.

Jim O'Reilly hit a 2-run double off Mike Richards in the bottom of the third, which put the Ironbirds in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, O'Reilly had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
