Black Bears Rally to Tally 4-1 Win
|
West Virginia pitcher Randy Dasher did his part in helping his team beat the Auburn Doubledays, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Dasher got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Jesús González saved it for West Virginia.
Jimmy Songer had a direct impact on the outcome. Songer contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put West Virginia up, 2-1.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Dasher, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Yes, it was a win for West Virginia; but their 13-26 mark is nothing to crow about.
