With first baseman José Rodríguez leading the charge, the Auburn Doubledays defeated the West Virginia Black Bears, 5-4, at Falcon Park. Rodríguez, who is tied for 5th in the NYP in home runs with 7, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. The win makes Auburn 20-18.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Auburn center fielder Gilberto Cardenas, facing Shawn Allen, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Doubledays the 5-4 win.

Cardenas described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
