Auburn right fielder Álex Rodríguez played a vital role in his team's 8-5 triumph over Batavia. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Auburn. Auburn reliever Don Cash picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Colt Federith shouldered the loss. Aurelio Flores finished to wrap up his 10th save.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the sixth when Rodríguez hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Doubledays into the lead, 7-5.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Auburn manager Takanobu Sato.

Auburn, at 16-23, sits in last place in the Pinckney Division.
