The Williamsport Crosscutters locked up a win at Richmond County Bank Ballpark, knocking off the Staten Island Yankees, 6-2. On the mound for Williamsport was right-hander Dave Lynam. He played a major role in the triumph. Joe Oglethorpe earned the save for Williamsport, his 4th of the year. The Crosscutters, at 14-20, inhabit 5th place in the Pinckney Division.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Eric King? The Williamsport third baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Crosscutters on top, 3-2. For the game, King had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Lynam. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
