Muckdogs Handed 8-3 Loss by Mahoning Valley
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers topped the Batavia Muckdogs, 8-3, in New York-Penn League action at Eastwood Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Mahoning Valley pitcher Dan Knight. The Scrappers improved their record to 15-17 by beating Batavia.

Garry Hamilton had a big run-scoring double for the Scrappers in the bottom of the third inning. With Mahoning Valley leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Eddie Scofield and swatted a double to right. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Scrappers ahead, 2-0.

"It's good to win," Hamilton told the Mahoning Valley Daily News. "I like to have fun doing it."
