Behind the hitting of Mike Griffin, the Aberdeen Ironbirds stopped the State College Spikes, 13-2. Griffin was 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Ironbirds. José Hernández recorded the save for Aberdeen, his 1st of the season. The Ironbirds got a big hit from left fielder Kip Larsen. Facing State College pitcher Gus White in the top of the eighth, Larsen pounded a 3-run home run to center. His 2nd home run of the season put the Ironbirds ahead, 13-2.
