Crosscutters Trip Lake Monsters, 16-8, in Extra Innings
|
In a high-scoring contest between Williamsport and Vermont, left fielder Ben Little was a difference-maker. Little, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2022 draft, distinguished himself in the 16-8 Williamsport win. He went 1-5 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 4 and driving in 4. Vermont has now lost 5 straight.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Steve Mendoza came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Vermont pitcher Ernesto Zambrano, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Williamsport on top, 8-7.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Little.
