Lake Monsters Drop 6-1 Decision to Doubledays
|
Starting pitcher Jake Puentenueva had a solid game. He was a big reason the Auburn Doubledays throttled the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-1. Auburn reliever Jim Rascop picked up the win, while Greg Hall took the loss for Vermont. Auburn has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
The Doubledays got a big hit from shortstop Dan Mason. In the bottom of the sixth, Mason smacked a 2-run triple off Vermont pitcher Greg Hall. It was his 2nd triple of the season. Suddenly, the Doubledays were ahead, 2-1.
Auburn manager Brandon Crawford called it "a darn good win."
