Getting a good performance from pinch hitter Eric Edwards, the Auburn Doubledays defeated the Williamsport Crosscutters, 5-3. Edwards went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Doubledays. Auburn, with the win, is 8-17.

Edwards contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Auburn in the bottom of the seventh. With his team trailing 3-2, Edwards took a fastball from Gilberto Chu and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Doubledays to leap in front, 5-3.

"We take it day by day here," said Edwards, "and today was a good one for us."
