Down Goes Batavia, 7-3
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones knocked off the Batavia Muckdogs, 7-3, in New York-Penn League action at MCU Park. Brooklyn pitcher and Las Vegas, Nevada, native Bob Morris had an outstanding performance. Morris picked up the win for Brooklyn, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Brooklyn now has a record of 15-7 with the win.
Brooklyn right fielder Toby Brewer contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 25th hit of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 6-3.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Morris. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
