Black Bears Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Doubledays, 5-3
West Virginia rode a decent outing from starter Art Triska to victory over the Auburn Doubledays. The final score was 5-3. West Virginia pitcher Robert Erhardt got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Aurelio Flores got the loss. The Doubledays are now 5-9.

The Black Bears used some clutch hitting to beat the Doubledays, a good example being the at-bat of Bob Dawson in the top of the ninth. With two down, Dawson gave his team the lead, 5-3, when he hit a 2-run double.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Triska.
