Corunha Slugs ValleyCats to 11-6 Win
The Tri-City ValleyCats trumped the Auburn Doubledays, 11-6, at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Tri-City designated hitter Estaçio Corunha was terrific. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. José Zamora picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 5 in 5 innings. After losing, Auburn is 1-5.

Bobby O'Day had a big 2-run home run for the ValleyCats in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Tri-City leading 4-2 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 20-year old third baseman Ed Wilson and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the ValleyCats on top, 6-2.

"I felt good up there," said O'Day. "I saw the ball well."
