It was a big day for Steve Hawkins and he brought the Batavia Muckdogs along for the ride.

Hawkins led his club to victory, 11-5, over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Dwyer Stadium, smoking Vermont pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. The 21-year-old left fielder later called the victory "sweet."

Steve Hawkins singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
