Colorado and New York duked it out and the Rockies came out victorious.

Colorado Rockies starter Bernardo García found his groove in his team's 5-3 win over the New York Mets. The save went to Dave Kirkpatrick, number 9 for him.

The Rockies got a big at-bat from first baseman Christian Walker. For the game, Walker was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Colorado a 5-1 lead.

"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said New York manager Mike Matheny.

After today's action, Colorado sits at 16-20; New York slips to 15-20.
