Blue Jays Edge Twins, 3-2
|
Toronto turned a good effort from starter Vince McSweeney into a win over the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. The final score was 3-2. The defeat makes Minnesota 19-13.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Nick Ciuffo? The Toronto catcher had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 3-1. For the game, Ciuffo had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Vince did a good job mixing and matching," said Toronto manager Don Mattingly.
