The Washington Nationals topped the New York Mets, 6-3, in National League action at Citi Field. The standout performance belonged to Washington pitcher and Bayamón, Puerto Rico, native Jose Berrios. The winning pitcher was Berrios, now 3-2. He tossed 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Dominic Bingham was credited with the save for Washington, his 11th of the season.

Jeremy Austin contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. His at-bat helped Washington get the win.

Austin told a Washington News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The victory makes Washington 20-12, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2026.
